The effective field theory approach to gravitational dynamics: from black holes to cosmology

I review the uses of effective field theory (EFT) techniques, originally developed in particle physics, to solve problems in gravity. I will focus on the EFT approach to gravitational wave radiation from binary compact objects, aka NRGR, but I will also briefly discuss other type of EFT applications such as: black hole dissipation/absorption, inflation, high energy gravitational scattering and fluid dynamics.
