Holographic Wilson Loops

Over the last decade, much of the research in theoretical high energy physics has been driven by the use of holographic techniques to describe strongly coupled field theories. In this talk I will give a brief introduction to the AdS/CFT correspondence and its application to the study of a class of non-local variables in gauge theories known as Wilson loops.
