The Search for CP Violation and the Determination of the Neutrino Mass Hierarchy in the NOvA Experiment
The recent discovery of a non-zero value of the neutrino mixing angle $\theta_{13}$ is excellent news for the NuMI Off-Axis $\nu_e$ Appearance (NO$\nu$A) long baseline experiment. NO$\nu$A, currently under construction and set to begin collecting data in the spring of 2013, has unique sensitivity to the neutrino mass-hierarchy, the CP-violating neutrino mixing phase, and the octant of the $\theta_{23}$ mixing angle. I review here the design of the detectors and beam, the physics sensitivities with the latest knowledge of $\theta_{13}$, and the schedule of the NO$\nu$A experiment.
